Scouts NSW is an eligible provider of the Active Kids rebate.
From 31 January 2018, parents and carers of school-aged children in Scouts can receive a $100 voucher to go towards covering membership fees for the calendar year. One voucher will be available for every child in the family annually over the next four years, ensuring families who want their children to enjoy the Scout program can send their children to Scouts.
Scouts NSW has worked closely with the NSW Office of Sport to ensure the program is implemented effectively, and is integrated as seamlessly as possible so that Scouting families can redeem their vouchers easily.
From 31 January 2018, you can claim your voucher/s by:
- Step 1: Visit the Service NSW online portal to register for and download your child’s Active Kids voucher.
- Step 2: Once downloaded, send Scouts NSW a copy of the voucher online through the Active Kids Rebate Voucher Redemption Form (which will be activated on this page on 31 January 2018).
- Step 3: Save $100 on membership fees!

The annual Christmas Tree fundraiser was held on Saturday 9th December 2017.
Many Scout Groups hold a Christmas Tree sale on the same day each year.
The trees were beautiful this year and were completely sold out by lunch time.
We thank the local community for all the support for this important group fundraiser.
See you in 2018 !
Recently the group was donated a flag pole from the Berowra RSL. A flag has also been donated by Mr Matt Kean.
A project was launched to install the pole.
The new flag will be raised at the Group Christmas Party on December 15th 2017
In early 2017 the Group was awarded a NSW Community Building Grant for the repair of the hall driveway.
In July a new asphalt driveway was installed. The new driveway will make access to the hall garage much safer.
The group would like to thank the support from local MP Mr Matt Kean who endorsed our submission.
Thank you to all our Families that braved the heat to help out at our Bunnings BBQ fundraiser on Sunday 14th February.
Despite the heat by 4pm most of the Sausages had been sold and a huge amount of icy cold drinks.
The group should raise around $850 from the event. The funds are being put towards camping equipment for the up coming Scout Easter Camp where the Scout Troop will attempt to defend their title as District Champions.
Thanks to Bunnings Thornleigh for hosting us and to IGA Wahroonga for again supporting us with the food and drink supplies.
Thank you to all that supported our annual Christmas Tree Fundraiser last weekend.
Lots of volunteers ‘set up shop’ and sold trees to locals in Hunt Reserve.
By 3pm all but a small number of trees had sold and the rest were sold via Facebook and word of mouth in the next few days.
As the groups major fundraiser, the Christmas Tree sale is very important and the 2015 result is excellent.
See you on the 10th of December 2016 !

A huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteers (over 40 Scout, Guide Parents and Kids across the day) for helping at the Hall Spring Clean on Sunday 25th October !
So many jobs got done, including clearing the area around the hall, graffiti removal, painting, washing walls, sorting out equipment and cleaning the halls and kitchen.
It wasn’t all hard work !! Water fights broke out regularly
Volunteers were rewarded with a BBQ lunch in the sun.
Our wonderful hall is looking shiny and new and ready for the next year !
Thanks again !
MCMK Group Committee
A small, but enthusiastic group of leader, parents and kids participated in the 2015 Relay for Life held at Rofe Park.
The Relay for Life is a 24hr walking event with attendance by local community groups and supporters. Dance acts, bands and jumping castles kept the walkers entertained.
The group raised over $250 for the event.
The very worthy cause is already in the diary for 2016 !
The NSW Election has been run and won and the people of Mt Colah have been well fed thanks to the efforts of the Scout Group.
Bacon and Egg Rolls flowed from 7.30am quickly followed by Sausage Sandwiches all the way through to 3pm.
Our wonderful community of families filled the roster and the BBQ was roaring all day with over 150 Bacon and egg rolls and 400 Sausage Sandwiches sold.
All money raised goes straight back to the group to help purchase much needed equipment for each section as well as assisting our Scouts that are attending the Jamboree.
Thanks to everyone involved !
